I am enthusiastic that this fall I will be a first-year Kindergarten teacher. This has been a dream of mine since I was little and now, with lots of hard work it is becoming a reality. As I embark on this new chapter in an empty classroom, I want to create a learning environment that is warm, safe, inviting, and diverse for all students. The materials I have selected include flexible seating, writing materials, and projectors that will help heighten the level of engagement and success in the classroom. I want to create a variety of options for all students to be themselves in the classroom. As 4- and 5-year-olds, children need the flexibility and adventure to feel comfortable in what they do. I want to give them the choice of where to sit and how they sit, to keep them engaged in their learning. Flexible seating is so important, as no child is the same, no seat should be either. I also want to give the students the opportunity to launch them forward into the future of technology in having access to an "ELMO" in their classroom. This device and cart will project papers, books, or drawings onto the board to be visible to all of the students, no matter where they are in the classroom. This will give all students access to more visuals in the classroom throughout the day. Students will be accessible to watch lessons being modeled on the board from this new technology. Any and all contributions are appreciated, and I am eternally grateful for your support! Your donation will help all my students enjoy their first day as they will find comfort in all of the materials and resources provided to them because of this organization.
