I am requesting a Nintendo Switch. This technology will help me create a fun, exciting, and inclusive home-like community within my special education program. As part of our day we have a short period we call "Activity Period," during which students most enjoy dancing along to the popular 'Just Dance' videos. With this console they will be able to interactively compete with their friends instead of just watching the videos. This will manifest into relationship building moments between students, the teachers, and paraprofessionals. This goes way beyond "just another assignment." We have several Freshmen joining our program this August, and this innovative activity will help ease the transition for students who struggle so much with change and new social environments. My goal is to build a loving space in which all students feel accepted, valued, and at home in my classroom. The Nintendo Switch will help me do that and more. My students work hard every day to learn and reach their goals, they deserve a fun way to cut loose! I hope that you will help me give them that opportunity. Thank you!
