One of the biggest challenges that I have encountered while teaching online, is the limited quantity of books and materials for reading activities that some of my students have available at home. I might add that my families are wonderful, compromised, and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure their children are successful; however, bilingual books and materials can cost as much as three times the value of their English versions. I wish to send books home for each one of my students so they can get high-quality reading books for independent reading at home. The books will go to the homes of 16 students. I can't wait for the day when they log in to the class the day after getting these books, excited to share their new books with their classmates. Phonics is a fundamental area of development in every child, I want to give them the tools they need to transition from learning to read, to reading to learn! The letter tubs and letter books will be a part of my kindergarten and first grade lessons every day, and they would be the perfect fit for my document camera!
