With these additional copies of Born A Crime, I will have enough to read this book with all 100 of my 10th grade English students this year! Students will be able to come to campus during remote learning and check out copies of the book to read at home. Students will read each section of the book and complete critical thinking and analysis activities including a final project and essay assignment. This book is a fascinating first person account of growing up under apartheid by Trevor Noah, a highly relatable and thoughtful narrator. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the causes and impacts of historical racial opression around the world as they learn about the short story and personal essay forms.
