Many of my students struggle with task completion and self-regulation. Students with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder often require outside motivators to complete a task. I would like to help them become more independent and require less adult support and prompting throughout the day. This would allow them to succeed at the same pace as their peers and draw less unwanted attention to themselves within the larger classroom setting. Giving my students the tools to be independent is my number one goal. These mini-visual timers will help teach them a strategy to use in any setting across school and home, when working towards completing a task. They are motivating and can be used independently by second graders.
