These graphic novels will help all students in Kindergarten - 5th grade peak their interest in reading and find the excitement of a good book that we all know. During distance learning throughout the pandemic, many students were not engaged in reading. While they developed many wonderful 21st century skills, reading along, with peers, and even as a class was not a large focus. I want the students at my school to rediscover their love of literature and graphic novels are a perfect way to open that door. Graphic novels will help students to master the RL.10 standard at each grade level (RLK.10, RL1.10, RL2.10, RL3.10, RL4.10, RL5.10) because it allows them the tools to access higher level complex texts with a medium that is creative and engaging.
