Since I have been in charge of our photography program, most of the lighting equipment, props, and backdrops have been from my own collection that I grew in college. My dream is to have a photography classroom that provides my students with everything they need without stepping outside of my door. While our photography program is quickly growing, we only have a few DSLR cameras that the students use in class. Therefore, most of my students are using only their cell phones to learn about the world of photography. Cell phones can be adequate in capturing great photographs, however, the students are limited in their creative options in the classroom. I have noticed that students become less interested and enthusiastic when they do not have opportunities to explore past walking around the school. With the materials in this project, my students will have the ability to explore the world of photography labs, product photography, and a wide study of light. I have included props to create shutter speed studies using a glass tank and paint in syringes, backdrops and props for product photography, as well as props to study light painting in exciting and creative ways.
