After conducting research on the benefits of reading chapter books, I found that they are instrumental in building vocabulary, increasing understanding, and enhancing communication & dialogue skills. The goal is to create excitement for learning at school as well as at home. The students will use chapter books in conjunction with literature logs to help them better understand reading focus skills. They will be challenged in vocabulary, reading comprehension, reading fluency, illustrating, and several other reading skills. Chapter books are a great avenue to encourage students to read and enjoy reading.
