Flexible seating is a great opportunity for students to take charge of their learning and their personal learning needs. Since they each are aware of how they learn best, it is important for them to have options to choose from. Whether they want to sit on a bouncy stool, a Hokki seat, on the floor, or at a standing desk, options are key. Students are noticeably more engaged when they have the ability to sit comfortably. Some work best at a traditional desk. Others may need a study carrel to block distractions. Some may need to sit on the floor and stretch out while they are reading or writing. Others may need to bounce on a stool to stay focused. Whatever the choice is, it's extremely important for students to make that choice for themselves. With more options added to our classroom, students will have the ability to grow in their learning.
