These books will allow my students to have interesting choices in silent reading. When students are given a choice, they are more likely to engage and decide that they are interested. Relevant and accessible literature helps kids learn to read and helps kids learn about their word. Most of my students read below grade level. These texts will allow an access point for these students. They can use the texts with the strategies and reading skills they will be learning in class. The more students read, the better they become at reading. As a beginning teacher, I am need support and books to build my class library. This library will be a safe haven for students to explore different texts at their instructional reading level.
