The Adafruit Circuit Playground Express will give students the opportunity to create within Computer Science using freestyle coding and visualization of the results of coding. This will make an extreme impact in my classroom by students being able to actually understand the concepts of programming and see the output of their codes. These kits have online lessons as well as in-person lessons so it is useful for all students inside the classroom or learning from home. I noticed that my students are very hands-on and love when we interact with Adafruit online using the website (https://makecode.adafruit.com/) so, I knew that this kit will bring joy to my curriculums and lessons. With these kits, we will tackle social issues like finding a way to decrease dried planting by initiating a water tower with the Adafruit and coding, Creating an energy saver windmill, Timed lighting for homes, and more! Over the summer, I took a step further to attend a workshop developing my skills with the Adafruit kits and got many tools and training I needed to implement more lessons with these kits and feel confident that my students and I will produce a lot of great projects. This will make my classroom the STEM maker-space I envisioned it to be and I truly need your support! Thank you!
