The students will be able to read fluently and build upon their comprehension. So many times, I find that students do not enjoy reading and that’s because the required readings are a bore! I have read these novels in previous years and the students were jumping out their seats wanting to know what happens next! The miraculous thing about it is that the students learned to understand what they read ( our book discussions were the best) and they were more willing to read aloud to build their fluency. Also, the stories were more relevant to their everyday life. The students vocabulary will increase as well.
