I am requesting treats for incentives for great behavior and staying on task. All students want incentives. Even as adults, we love being given incentives. I included this project in the category of Warmth, Care, and Hunger because I want to give my students confidence and feel as if our classroom is a safe, positive place where there is structure. My students are sixth graders just leaving elementary school. Slow transitions should always be made so that middle school is not a shock to them. In my class, it is important to follow rules, expectations, and procedures. As a result, consequences are given, so why not make those positive consequences count! This helps them with the basic idea of thinking before each and every action knowing something good just may follow.
