I work with students on IEPs in grades k-6. I have students come in and out all day from their regular classrooms. Some of these students come to me multiple times a day. I was able to visit this classroom last year and noticed that they stored stuff all over the room and these students did not have a centralized location to store their things. Several of these students already struggle with organizational skills and it would be so beneficial to have all their items in one place. Another thing I noticed when volunteering was that these students needed some type of reward system. I would like to implement "class pets" as a reward system. The "class pets" are just mini erasers the students can collect once they have filled their sticker sheet. Positive reinforcement and praise is so important to these kids.
