Alternative seating gives each student the ability to make a choice that will help them be successful. During group work and also independently, students can choose the seat that gives them comfort, but also helps them maintain focus if needed. Keeping students engaged and comfortable in the classroom is essential to an interactive classroom. These seat options are optimal for helping students take ownership of their learning style and also giving them the choice of which tools work best for them. My students are more focused and engaged in their work when they are given the option of choosing their own seat and workspace. The products I have selected will help my students have options for seating and making choices to be more effective and successful in the classroom. The wobble stools give students who need to get the wiggles out just enough movement to maintain focus. The wobble cushions give just a bit of stimulus to help engage those students who need motivation. The chair bands help those students who need to move their feet and not bother those around them. I have seen how students are engaged and take more ownership of their learning through the simple choice of seats and would like to give my students the opportunity to have this option.
