Each scholar learns best in their own unique way. Flexible seating and note taking options will give my students the ability to take charge of their learning and make choices that will benefit them the most. During Independent Practice, allowing my scholars to choose from different seating options, for example: stools, a wobble cushion, sitting on a rug, or the ability to stand and use a clipboard will maximize learning in my classroom. Taking notes is an important skill for all scholars to learn. Due to its importance, I want to set my scholars up for success. To do that, I need to give scholars the tools they need to best suit their learning style. This is where colored pencils and being able to color code benefits visual learners. Giving my scholars the freedom of choice throughout the school day will increase their engagement and in result maximize learning and growth.
