These sensory and fidget items are for special education students who require individualized educational opportunities. They are learning social and emotional skills in order to build self-awareness, problem solve, complete tasks independently, and manage self-regulation. With new sensory and fidget items, my students will be able to choose from a variety of objects in order to utilize taught strategies when incorporating self-regulation skills. Fidgets allow students to experience movement without having to actually get up and move around. Fidgets keep the body active, making room for the student to better engage in communication, reading, and listening. Fidget toys can also help reduce anxiety, stress, improve coordination and fine motor skills, and help assist when developing muscles in the hands.
