Picture my class full of Kindergarteners...their hands and brains are busy. They are using write on wipe off boards to write sight words. They can then use those words to write sentences and stories in their journals. Little brains need novelty and busy hands. The letter tiles can be used for reading, writing, and learning sight words. The students will easily manipulate the tiles to build hundreds of words. They will see that switching letters from new words. In this classroom, the students own their own learning because they have individual materials.
