Have you every struggled as a new student connecting with other students? Have you as a parent/teacher ever struggled getting your child to communicate? Well so have I and I teach these students. In my 15 years of classroom experience one thing I have noticed is my students are more willing to communicate when they have a common task. Playing card games and board games in the classroom during homeroom, activity time, and other times during the school day allow students an opportunity to communicate with one another and promotes collaboration within the classroom. Using these games in the classroom helps students make connections with each other and their teachers. I would love to get some more educational card games and other resources to promote community within the classroom.
