I would like to build several STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) bins for students to break into when they come into the classroom in the morning. Every morning there is a period of time that students are trickling in as they arrive at different times, but there is no reason this time cannot be used for learning. STEAM bins are an opportunity for students to work individually or collaboratively to explore, build, create, experiment, and learn while they wait for the routine of the day to get started. I love the idea of these bins SO MUCH but imagine they will be expensive to put together. Setting up a brand new classroom this year makes this a daunting task. I will take any help I can get to benefit my students in such a meaningful way.
