My students attend a Title I school. The majority of them do not go to the library and some are not read to. Few are raised by someone else beside their parents. They enjoy being read to and especially nonfiction text. Their eyes lighten up when they see pictures and hear facts about certain animals. Some have never gone to the zoo.
