March Volume I will be used in 8th grade ELA classrooms while social studies examines the state of the United States and whether the US has struggled to achieve its promises and potential. This graphic novel will not only be engaging for these students, but it will also provide them with some perspective as to who John Lewis is, why he is important, and how we can gather information that can help us in our current lives. The students need to understand the past in order for them to understand the present, their future and to lead the way for the rest of us. This graphic novel will help do just that. In addition, this book will be part of their book club challenge/recommendation and it would be great to have some copies for analysis and book club discussions. With your donations, not only are students learning about history and prominent figures in history, but they are also being engaged and reading and discussions with their peers and their teachers!
