Students will use the magnetic letters daily to practice reading skills. This will give them the opportunity to build letter/sound/word relationships. The level of phonemic abilities that students achieve is a predictor of future reading success. Multi-sensory materials are essential in helping students form the foundations of reading development. Using these letters will help students recognize that letters build sounds and those sounds work together to make words and meaning. A strong understanding of phonemic concepts is critical to all students, especially those that are English Language Learners and students who struggle to learn to read.
