All too often, students don't get to see their identities, backgrounds, or passions reflected in the classroom or texts they study as they learn to read. My goal is to provide my students with a daily read-alouds of culturally relevant, impactful texts that engage them and encourage them to think critically about the world around them. By donating to our classroom library project, you will not only help to improve and increase students' enjoyment and engagement as they learn to read, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. When classroom texts reflect and celebrate students' identities, students can easily bolster their growing reading skills with the passion and background knowledge they bring.
