GJES is a Title I school which means we are in a low income community. My students struggle with reading. This means they do not find a joy in it. I want to help my students find the love of diving into a book and watching the world melt away as they read. I plan to have my students start with the simpler books, like James and the Giant Peach, before we are going to dive into harder books to comprehend. My students need to know that they are capable of anything and if I start them at an easier text they may not become frustrated and give up.
