My hope is that this is how my students feel after being in our class: -- that learning a new language and exploring different cultures broadens our horizons -- that it helps us learn about and reflect upon our own language and culture -- that it opens our hearts and minds to a diversity of people while seeing that we are alike in as many ways as we are different -- that it gives us present and future opportunities that otherwise might not be available to us. These supplies will help my students to develop a passion for learning and the skills they need to be successful. The notebooks and dividers will give each student the opportunity to start with a new binder of their own to help develop their organizational skills. We use these almost everyday for all types of notes, activities and practice. The posters will make the classroom feel welcoming while helping the students embrace their learning. The markers will be used on individual white boards (that I had cut from shower siding) that the students enjoy using for practice. The crafts will help the students to enhance their creative side and connect with other cultures. We will be making flowers to give to others.
