As we prepare to return to in-person learning, I couldn't imagine a more welcoming way to introduce my TKers to the classroom than with fun, cuddly, loveable puppets. Phonics is critical skill taught in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and I integrate it into every lesson I teach; whether it's math, science, social studies, or English language arts, we are always talking about letters and their sounds. These puppets will be a great addition to the classroom. Each puppet will get their time to shine when teaching the letter of the week. These puppets can also be a fun way to discuss and dissect any sound we hear in the classroom. Students will also have the opportunity to play with them during our purposeful play time. Social Emotional Learning is a huge focus in TK. Often times I use stuffed animals to guide lessons with role play and these puppets would also be a resource in those lessons. Learning will be so loved if we had these colorful characters by our side!
