Adding these books to our classroom library means that our diverse population of students can listen to and/or read stories where they see themselves represented. More so, they see themselves represented in the classroom and curriculum. These books will allow students to be engaged in stories that teach lessons of different cultures, acceptance, inclusion, diversity, and love. With these books, students have the opportunity to buy-in into the lesson; they will be able to give input from their own lived experiences. How special is it that when integrating these stories into the curriculum students have the opportunity to be the expert.
