This year Novato Unified School District is piloting its first Counseling Enriched Classroom for grades 2nd-5th. It is a special classroom for students who are classified with a learning, behavioral, or social or emotional disability, which includes students on the Autism Spectrum. As our most vulnerable students, they need resources to develop interpersonal skills and behavior supports. With these Daily Growth Mindset Journals they will be engaging in writing prompts to strengthen resiliency, and the Grab and Write prompt cards will enrich our morning meeting discussions. The Match and Sort packs will be good for students breaks, or for work stations. Both the visual timer and pocket chart (for visual schedule) create a sense of security for students on the Autism Spectrum.
