The students will work collaboratively as they read through the resource text "How to Read Literature Like A Professor", the skills acquired from reading this text will be used to analyze the play "Fences" by August Wilson. The skills acquired from this text will be used as a foundation for the skills that they will learn throughout the academic year for AP Literature and Composition. Secondly, the novel "Their Eyes Were Watching God" will be used to initiate the learners to understand the major components of longer fictions when compared to a short story. I will also use this text as a resource and a reference text for the learners to get better knowledge for when they are choosing their text of choice.
