As a special educator, I recognize that my students need tactile learning experiences, as well as alternative seating choices to ensure active engagement and learning. Colorful bean bags and a rug will create an inviting, positive environment for my students with disabilities to engage in a variety of reading activities. Oftentimes, students with disabilities are skeptical about reading and other required school activities-- this new, exciting environment is necessary to ensure success. My plan is to allow students the opportunity to complete school work in this new area in my classroom.
