Developing a love of reading is my passion as a teacher. I often spend countless hours in the library reading 3rd-grade books- just so I can recommend a book that might spark a student's interest. Storyworks Magazine is that spark, and I desperately want to get it into the hands of my students. There is something to be said about holding a paper copy of a book, magazine, or whatever else you may be reading. Students are spending hours in virtual environments, and I would love to provide them a way to interact with engaging text away from the screen. Not only do these magazines provide great educational skills aligned to state standards, but the articles are also current and relevant to young readers. This resource will provide so much more than just articles to read. It will provide rich discussions with peers, debates, laughs, conversations with family around the dinner table, connections to other students around the world, and, most importantly, a love of reading!
