Students come from all different backgrounds, but they are also different types of learners. Some students learn best with the traditional way of teaching while others benefit from stepping away from tradition and engaging in more modern methods. With this project, my hope and plan is to bring in materials to help all students learn no matter their background and how they learn. The materials I am asking for are to help with all my students' needs in mind. For example, bookcases will be used to help organize the mini library in the classroom. This will be a comfortable reading area to help promote reading outside of what students will be reading in class. The books are a wide variety of genres to help students find something that will interest them, which in turn will help them want to read and improve their reading skills.
Other items to help my students learn are English inspired games to promote a different method of learning. By incorporating games into the students' learning environment, students will have a fun inviting way to focus on skills such as building vocabulary, reading comprehension, and critical thinking.
Besides games, art supplies have been requested for my students to help them get in touch with their creative skills. Art supplies will help students, who may struggle with their writing skills, a different type of project to work on for their English assignments about certain stories we will be reading in class. Then the educational posters will help with my visual learners to remember certain English terms. And finally, a variety of fidget toys and stress toys to students who may become stressed inside/outside the classroom. This will hopefully help them concentrate and destress within a classroom that feels safe and loved.
