My students will have multiple stories read to them. This will benefit all students, but especially those who have little parent support at home. A listening center is vital to a first grade class because it increases their literacy skills such as fluency, expression and articulation. This center will also be used to expose students to a wide array of genres. Each student will attend this center daily and be encouraged to read along with each story. In the future, I plan to expand my library of books on CD.
