In the last year, I have worked to provide my first graders with the everything I can. However, due to funding and the fact that it was only my first year teaching, there were many classroom essentials that we had to make do without, and many aspects of our classroom space that were left wanting. As we move forward, I want to provide my students with the best learning experience I can, and that starts from day 1 when they walk into their new classroom! Ideally, I want to create a bright and colorful learning environment for my students that is engaging and welcoming: I want students to be excited about being in our classroom space! I believe that providing flexible seating, more clear organization of materials and books, and the additional whiteboard and chart paper space of an easel (as we have few bulletin boards and even fewer whiteboard spaces in our room) will greatly benefit my students. Note: This project states that it will reach 25 students - that is an approximate number for each year of school. Ideally, these materials will continue to benefit students for years to come!
