I teach a varied group of students: English Language Learners, Dyslexics and students served by Special Education. My 8th grade History class, students learn about the Early United States, 7th grade focuses on Texas History. My students struggle with reading, comprehension and cause & effect relationships required to pass their end of course exam. Incorporating high interest, historical picture books into my lessons will help them build knowledge and reading skills at a comfortable level for these struggling students. A print-rich classroom will assist my students in reaching their potential.
