Calming Corner for ELA Room. This part of my classroom will be for students who need a social emotional break. This will be a secluded area will children can go. Furniture is a key factor in creating your calm down corner. The size of the space will determine what I can include. At a minimum, I need a place for your students to sit. I like to provide a comfortable option, like a bean bag chair. If space allows, I may want to think about adding a small desk or table. This can be especially helpful if I have a reflection sheet for students to complete.
