I am a new English teacher and my classroom has been neglected over the years by previous teachers. Upon entering, I notice that it feels empty and hollow; a feeling I am sure my students have felt for years (or will feel when they begin using it for the first time). As an English teacher, it is my job to provide a comfortable, safe, and warm environment. Without this, it is nearly impossible to expect students to be open to diversity and thoughtful expression. It is my goal that with this project completion, my students will be able to relax and open their minds to learning how to read, write, and think critically when they come to the classroom each day.

About my class
