As I am setting up my new classroom, I am keeping in mind first graders' developmental needs. First graders are busy, creative, active and fun! In order to meet some of their needs in the classroom, I plan to provide a variety of options for flexible seating throughout the room. I will have options for floor seating such as floor pillows and scoop chairs ,and I hope to add more variety with these stools! Flexible seating in the classroom provides students with opportunities for choice, comfort and fun! Giving students the chance to wobble, rock and move benefits their focus and learning in the classroom.
