These students will learn through self-exploration. When students can go to a table with specific items and work as a group to teach each other they learn more. Take for example the foam alphabet and numbers, some students have not been exposed to letters or numbers yet and some have. Those that have can work with the others and together they will learn how to manipulate the foam from a square into a letter or number. The sand will hide the animals which they will learn to sort by color, shape, and or size. By using the grabbing supplies it develops their fine motor skills which enhances their ability to grip a pencil correctly helping their cognitive skills. The search and find method of this exercise will teach the student perseverance and self-fulfillment because they accomplished a task on their own. The art supplies will show off their work around the room so they can be proud of what they have accomplished. All of these items will help them become learn to work in groups and respect themselves and others.
