I recently graduated college and accepted my first teaching position as a kindergarten teacher. I am so excited to share my knowledge and experience with my new students in August. As a first-year teacher I do not have a lot of resources built up from previous years of teaching like many other educators. I have already spent a lot of my personal money in efforts to creating an inviting and engaging classroom but at this point I need help to make it complete. On this list I have included a classroom meeting rug. This item will help provide a comfortable meeting area for my students and I. The class will meet daily in this area to read books, participate in discussions, and fun activities. During this time, a supportive community will build among the classroom fostering positive relationships in the classroom throughout the year. Other items on this list include things such as book bins and storage containers. The purpose for these will be to create an organized classroom library. This classroom library will help to motivate my young students in recreation reading for a love of reading. This library will offer the students a rang of literature choices and levels to pick from that are detailed to their abilities. Classroom light covers are included to help create a calm and comfortable learning environment by cutting out some of the light provided by the intense florescent lighting. The visual timer that is included will provide visual and audio cues to help my students with their time management during independent activities as this age has not yet built an understanding to time. The last few items include things such as bingo games that will help bring fun and excitement to their learning. Thank you in advance for any help!
