For 2 years we have watched the Covid Pandemic change and shape our society. Although this feels unique to us, it is not the first time that our society has seen and overcome such a disaster. This story is a nonfiction book about Peg Kehret’s journey through polio and recovery. Students will be able to read about a child their age who faced similar adversities and overcame. They will make cross curriculum connections between reading, science, and history and it will bring them hope in the face of their own trials.
