Many students often struggle with maintaining focus in a large class setting. In math, this can often result in students missing critical information needed to help them understand the lesson. By giving students a discreet way to channel their energy or anxiety, this will not only help them focus more on the material being taught and help alleviate math text anxiety, but will also help them do it in a way that does not cause a distraction to other students. Math test anxiety is a growing problem among middle school math students. By minimizing their anxiety and increasing their focus on the math, students can then see positive results on their assessments and in their everyday class performance, thus increasing self-esteem and potentially eliminating fear that often comes with math class due to math anxiety.
