The reading materials I have selected will make a difference in my students learning because they will have books that appeal to all reading levels. They do not have to be intimidated by specific curriculum books without any variety in reading experience or culture. Students will be exposed to text that gives them a foundation and paves the way to grow as fluent readers. The selected reading materials will be used in school for guided reading, small groups, independent, and free reading time. The leveled readers will be used to identify students reading level, build accuracy, fluency, and most of all enjoyment of reading. The main goal is for students to advance reading levels throughout the year and transition from learning to read to reading to learn.
