I am requesting professional texts related to the Science of Reading for reading instruction. We currently do not have a professional development library in our school. The books being requested will be a game changer for our teachers to better serve our struggling readers. Reading is a basic tool for a good life not just for students, but also for teachers. Acquiring professional resources, such as these texts, serves to re-professionalize teaching. Because these texts will be placed into a teacher library, their impact will stretch for years. With these resources, I can work collaboratively with my peers to grow as a teacher of reading and writing, and our school culture and students will benefit in the process.
