Culinary arts have come a long way from home economics. My students learn hands on when in the classroom. The aprons will help them in the classroom by giving them the needed apparel to begin a working school cafe. The cultivating of their own produce such as potatoes, tomatoes, and carrots afford them the opportunity to learn the benefits of eating fresh. Watching the growth of the food and harvesting gives them total hands on experience and keeps them interested. Learning the different types of herbs and growing herbs will help in their prep of food utilizing what they have grown.
