The use of simple machines complete set, stem early learning kit, soft unit blocks, jumbo cardboard blocks, and construction set will enhance my Transitional Kindergarten students experience in the block area. The use of each items will introduce patterns such as shapes, numbers, and encourage the students to predict patterns and build critical thinking. The simple machines will engage students in determining how something can affect another. Having a variety of blocks to build with will open endless of learning opportunities in which the children can engage in. Blocks help children become familiar with balance, weight, spatial awareness and gravity. "Blocks offer opportunities to test hypotheses and build scientific reasoning."-Gayle Mindes They learn through the exploration of cause and effect and experimentation as they build towers and communicate with their classmate throughout the process of building.
