I began my first year teaching during a pandemic. As we transition back into full time class sessions, we still need many materials. The items on my list will be used to create an engaging, immersive classroom environment so that students understand the what, why, and how of Spanish language learning. By using the materials listed, students can focus less on vocabulary repetition, and more on using target vocabulary in authentic ways. For example, materials like the soccer ball will be used for fast paced activities that challenge students to quickly answer questions, yet having fun and keeping them engaged by never knowing who will be next to receive the ball.
