We have a testing room that has always been very unwelcoming. We have decided to turn this into a place that students feel comfortable and want to be. We are using this space to allow students to express themselves and feel comfortable doing it. We would like this space to have different seating arrangements so that they are able to pick what they are comfortable with. Students with disabilities often have sensory issues and struggle to sit in normal classroom furniture for long periods of time. Giving them a choice of furniture empowers them and allows them to feel in control. This will also allow them to stay focused for longer.
