Students will only become interested in reading when they find something to capture their attention. Using the Harry Potter books in a guided read aloud would help students find love in reading, follow along to help support fluency and comprehension skills, use text to refer back to in reading practice, and simply fall in love with reading. I’m hoping this donation will help me raise not only student literacy levels, but also help them to become lifelong readers who discover the joy in reading for pleasure AND reading for learning.
